Legal Alert: DOL Extends Deadline for Second Time to Submit VETS 100/VETS 100A Reports

Date   Oct 4, 2011

The Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Services (VETS) has announced that due to technical problems implementing the electronic submission of VETS 100/VETS 100A forms, federal contractors required to file such forms have until December 30, 2011, to do so.

Executive Summary: The Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Services (VETS) has announced that due to technical problems implementing the electronic submission of VETS 100/VETS 100A forms, federal contractors required to file such forms have until December 30, 2011, to do so.

Background:

Applicable federal contractors must submit annual reports known as the VETS 100 or VETS 100A by September 30 each year. In August 2011, the VETS Agency extended the deadline to November 30, 2011, because of technical difficulties. These technical difficulties still plague the online filing process. As a result, the deadline has been extended a second time to December 30, 2011. The VETS Agency anticipates that the electronic filing system will be available on November 1, 2011; thus, federal contractors should submit the 2011 form between November 1 and December 30, 2011.

If you have any questions regarding the VETS 100/VETS 100A reports or other affirmative action or reporting obligations of federal contractors, please contact the Ford & Harrison attorney with whom you usually work.
