Ford & Harrison Shows Support for Long-Time Client Set to be Featured on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" May 16

Date   May 11, 2010

ATLANTA - Ford & Harrison is pleased to announce its support of one of its oldest clients, Palm Harbor Homes, by providing a financial contribution to the company's efforts as the home builder on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Palm Harbor Homes, through its wholly-owned modular subsidiary, Nationwide Homes, Inc., provided the first modular home ever seen on the show. The season finale will feature Palm Harbor and Nationwide Homes staff, along with the team from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and hundreds of community volunteers working together to build a new home for the very deserving Williams family in Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia. The episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 8:00 Eastern / 7:00 Central on ABC.

In February, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" traveled to Georgia to meet Jeremy and Jennifer Williams. Their son Jacob was diagnosed with Spina Bifida before he was born. Several years after Jacob's birth, Jeremy was diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Now, the home Jeremy and Jennifer bought 13 years ago is falling apart around them. In addition to mounting home repairs, the home is too small to accommodate two disabled family members. The episode will highlight a new, 4,000 square foot, energy efficient home that is fully handicapped accessible to accommodate the special needs of Jeremy and Jacob. Like all of Palm Harbor and Nationwide's homes, this home was built in an environmentally-protected building center by skilled and experienced company associates and set on site in one day.

In addition, Palm Harbor and Nationwide Homes are working together to help raise awareness and donations for the ALS Association. A "Jeremy Williams Tribute Account" also has been set up with through the ALS Foundation of Georgia to accept donations to help stop ALS and to support families impacted by this disease.
