Laura Yellig focuses her legal practice on advocating for management clients involved in employment law disputes.

Laura has handled lawsuits in state and federal courts from the complaint stage all the way to jury trials and appeals. Prior to joining FordHarrison, she served as an attorney in the Litigation Division of the City of Atlanta Department of Law, where she represented the City and its employees in a variety of practice areas and defended the City's employment decisions in administrative proceedings before the Civil Service Board. Earlier in her career, Laura worked as a public defender in DeKalb County, Walton County, and finally, Fulton County, which provided her extensive jury trial experience while allowing her to serve the needs of traditionally underserved populations.

  • The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch - Litigation - Labor and Employment (2025)
  • Defended the large municipality in several appeals of employee terminations, including a writ of certiorari to Superior Court.
  • Obtained dismissals of lawsuits against the municipality at the pleadings and summary judgment stages.
  • As a public defender, represented felony and misdemeanor clients in criminal cases and defended parents in dependency proceedings in juvenile court.
