FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce that Aisha Sanchez, an attorney the firm's Tampa office, was recently named one of 100 early- to mid-career minority lawyers under 40 from the Southern Region in Lawyers of Color's (LOC) inaugural Hot List.
The honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee spent months reviewing nominations and researching bar publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates. LOC accepted nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues, then made editorial picks based on our research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal pipeline initiatives.
Sanchez frequently writes and lectures on managing transgender-related issues in the workplace, the implications of social media in employment law, union relations, benefiting from diversity and inclusion programs, and the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act. She concentrates her legal practice on representing management in traditional labor matters; defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, FMLA, and wage and hour disputes; and representing businesses in ADA Title III public accommodation litigation.
Aisha has represented healthcare clients in nine union-certification and decertification campaigns, participated in the negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement, and defends clients in arbitrations of union grievances. She draws on these varied traditional-labor experiences to advise and train clients on how to avoid unionization or operate efficiently in unionized environments.
