Description
As the Covid19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to America and California, the workplace has been turned upside down. In March, Governor Newsom forbade “public gatherings,” with certain exceptions for critical infrastructure. Also in March, Congress issued a series of sweeping legislative responses that have created paid sick leave rights, expanded and altered family and medical leave rights, and provided both generous unemployment insurance funding and strong incentives to employers to keep employees on their payrolls. As April has worn on, some of these measures have been altered, and some new measures, including one by the City of Los Angeles, have taken effect. What do lawyers advising California employers and employees need to know about all of these developments? Join us on April 15 for a one-hour discussion, followed by a 15-minute Q&A period.
