Body piercings and tattoos; clothing and hairstyle trends; culturally sensitive issues, such as hair texture, skin conditions, and religious attire: Can employers prohibit some, all, or none of these? Can employers make employment decisions based on size, weight, or even subjective attractiveness of employees or prospective employees? This session will explore
a variety of appearance-based issues that employers face every day and discuss situations in which business culture and necessity clash with discrimination laws based on race, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and more.
