"Two guidance documents recently released by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, although not directed to employers, provide employers with significant insight on how the EEOC defines the scope of protections the Americans with Disabilities Act provides to opioid users and persons seeking treatment for opioid addiction, referred to as Opioid Use Disorder, and factors employers should take into consideration to be better prepared to respond to requests for accommodation," said Vista.
