Fifth Third Bank and Moffitt Cancer Center, along with the Florida Diversity Council, will host the inaugural Florida Healthcare Diversity Summit on May 18 in the Stabile Research Building, Couch Auditorium. The summit is in response to newly-formed guidelines by The Joint Commission and is meant as an informative resource for all those within the healthcare arena.
The keynote speaker is Ricardo Forbes, chief diversity officer & corporate vice president, Baptist Health South Florida. The moderator for the panel discussion is Tracey Jaensch, managing partner of Ford & Harrison's Tampa Office and chair of the Florida Diversity Council.
The panel discussion includes the following topics:
- Cultural competence in clinical care
- Providing language access in a patient care setting
- Challenges accessing care
- Healthcare equality for the LGBT community.
