RICHMOND – FordHarrison LLP, one of the country’s largest management-side labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that the firm opened the doors of its new Richmond, VA office on June 1, 2023. Also, on June 1st, Karen Elliott joined the office as Partner and Brendan Horgan joined the office as Counsel. Karen and Brendan both come to FordHarrison from Eckert Seamans in Richmond.

I’m confident Karen and Brendan will positively lead our new office and serve as an asset to the entire firm, as well.”
Karen strives to provide her clients straightforward legal advice to help them craft effective business solutions to solve human resources challenges. She represents organizations of all sizes, from start-ups to companies listed in the Fortune 500. Karen is also often hired to serve as an independent investigator for employers facing complex and serious discrimination claims. As an experienced “Rocket Docket” litigator Karen strives to solve client problems before they result in litigation. Karen is recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers Virginia, Virginia Business magazine's "Legal Elite" and most recently was included in Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2023 Class of Influential Women of Law.
Brendan provides advice and counsel to employers of all sizes in various industries, including representing Virginia universities and staffing, manufacturing, healthcare, and construction companies. As a seasoned litigator, Brendan also regularly represents clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies on both the state and federal level. Earlier in his legal career, Brendan served as an active-duty Judge Advocate as both Trial Counsel (Prosecutor) and Defense Counsel, litigating more than twenty courts-martial and fifty administrative hearings for the U.S. Navy. Brendan currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
