About the Sessions:

2024 HR Legal Update - The Latest Developments Affecting Workplaces
Presentation Description: With the Presidential election season is in full swing, the federal regulatory bodies with enforcement authority over U.S. workplaces are in high gear trying to accomplish as much as possible before the election (and in advance of a potential change of Administration).

This session will focus on trending issues, including:

  • The EEOC’s updated guidance related to harassment and the pregnant workers fairness act and what employers should do in response.
  • The latest on legal challenges to federal agency rules and the impact of U.S. Supreme Court cases decided last term, including the DOL rule seeking to increase the minimum salary thresholds for exemptions slated to go into effect in January 2025, and attempts by the FTC to invalidate most workplace non-competes.
  • The battles over the use of Artificial Intelligence and DEI initiatives
  • Employment law implications and best practices when it comes to addressing heated political discussions, debates, or expressions as we get ready for the November 2024 election.

We will explore all of these issues with an interactive session with an eye towards equipping attendees with the knowledge and tools to successfully navigate the evolving landscape of employment and labor law and how to be prepared in an ever-changing regulatory environment.
