The FordHarrison Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Audit (FH DEIA) Taskforce guides employers through a proactive analysis of proposed and ongoing DEI programs and initiatives for compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
Employers have historically implemented DEI initiatives in an effort to achieve the goals of Title VII – to ensure a "level playing field" in employment opportunities. However, the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. President and Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina (SFFA v. Harvard/UNC), has been identified as a potential challenge to employer’s DEI efforts. FordHarrison’s taskforce has developed a unique FH Five First approach to evaluating DEI initiatives, programs and policies to reduce the legal risk of attracting, retaining and supporting a diverse workforce, reflective of the labor markets in which our clients conduct business.
The FH Five First approach combines an analytical, data based assessment with policy analysis and training/workshops to develop a strategic plan forward which is uniquely designed for your business. The FH DEIA Taskforce works closely with your executive team, in a privileged setting, to understand your current program, goals and objectives, and evaluate policies and procedures to create a proactive approach that decreases risk, while continuing to educate and provide employees with an environment where they will thrive and grow to increase the organization’s bottom line.
The impact and challenges to DEI programs will likely continue for the foreseeable future. The FH DEIA Taskforce will provide clients with a resource of information on new case law, national and local changes in laws, rules or regulations, as well as practical guidance.
