About the Program
On June 10, 2019, Alabama enacted the state’s first wage equity law. The Clarke-Figures Equal Pay Act (CFEPA) is very similar to the federal Equal Pay Act (EPA), but in addition to sex, includes race as a protected classification. The CFEPA also provides a new cause of action for discriminating against applicants for refusing to provide wage history.
Join FordHarrison attorneys Wesley Redmond and David Kalteux for a webinar analyzing the Alabama CFEPA and its impact on employers. This session will discuss best practices for staying in compliance with the CFEPA and the EPA, what your company needs to know now that the CFEPA has passed, and laws other states (e.g. New York. California, and New Jersey) have recently passed on this topic.
